The best (free) tools against SPAM
- POPfile: a personal
filter software whose installation for Windows is very easy (A
Linux version is also available) and that uses the excellent Bayesian
filter technique.
- K9: a personal
filter for Windows (uses a excellent Bayesian filter).
- Thunderbird,
the email reader that comes from Mozilla (it goes with the Firefox
web browser).
- Pegasus mail:
a mail reader powerful, flexible, really FREE and available in
English and in German.
- Sam Spade
(with the excellent Sam Spade for Windows).
Some other tools (still free)
Tools specifically for servers (free again)
I am less satisfied with the choice I need to make in this category
but my preference still goes to:
- SpamAssassin,
mainly because of the variety of strategies it allows (notice
that commercial products from Kerio
also include SpamAssassin).
