News of the SPAM world
Spammer $15,000 per week
If you were wondering why there was so much SPAM, it's simply because
it's a business racking a lot of moneyA former spammer, known only
as Spammer-X, confirmed he earned $480,000 in his last year of activity.
There are so many dumb people that spammers can drain. If you answer
to a SPAM (any SPAM) by buying something -even for a very small
sum- you just push these figures up....
This year wishes come from scammers, too
Visibly, for 2008, scammers and spammers start early: The number
of emailed wish cards seems to have increased to veru high levels.
I have only one advice: If you receive a "best wishes" or "wishes
for 2008" electronic card from somebody that you don't even
know, don't spend time checking it. It's most probably a mean to
insert a worm, a Trojan horse or a virus in your computer.
And, keep your anti-virus software updated.
Benazir Bhutto's death is followed by a Storm attack
The assasination of Benazir Bhutto is a sheer drama for Pakistan,
but -as usual- spammers and scammers already jumped in to exploit
it.
We find web sites that pretend to host fresh information about
the death of the Pakistanese ex-Prime Minister. But they actually
contain a script (identified by Trend Micro as JS_AGENT.AEVE) that
instals a Trojan.
Keep your eyes peeled.
