News of the SPAM world
Less SPAM?
This is what was recently said by the lead spamfighter at Google-GMail.
No figure, but GMail would be seeing a reduction of the flow (in
percentage of the total email), maybe because of the increasing
efficiency of filters.
On the contrary, a Barracuda Networks report (specialist in SPAM-filtering
devices) shows that the quantity of SPAM has risen again in 2007
to reach the record level of 95% of all email transmitted.

The more you earn in SPAM, the more you get in jail
American law against SPAM (The US CAN-SPAM act) had a provision
for it but it had not been clearly used. The lawyers of Min Kim,
24, tried to show that the financial damages resulting from his
SPAM activity could not be calculated. Judge Babcock admitted it
and accepted to evaluate them from the earnings of the spammer.
Sentence: 30 months in jail for $250,000.
