News of the SPAM world

Be not a spammer on GMAIL

When you have mail account on GMAIL (or any other similar service provider) it is quite important not to look like a spammer, and risk seeing your account disabled.

At GMAIL, more than 500 messages from the web or more than 100 destinees from POP/IMAP and your account is disabled. If you approach those limits, you'd better use services specialized in mass-communicaiton like Google Groups.

Maybe you'll prefer to use your own sevrer if you can install a listserv that will mass-distribute your emails.

No more SPAM in your catch-all

If you have your own domain name, you may be using it witch catch-all email address (all emails sent to any email address are collected into your common mailbox). But this tends to catch all SPAM of the world in your mailbox.

This article of LifeHacker explains how to redirect the catch-all toward a common address that will recognize and filter SPAM before sending the good emails to your mailbox. A simple and nice idea.
